Heat-Activated Film Adhesives (HAF)
H.B. Fuller’s advanced, heat-activated, film adhesives offer a low- or no-flow, mess-free alternative to liquid adhesives. Our thermoplastic and thermosetting heat-activated film adhesives (HAFs) bond to a wide range of substrates, including metals, plastics, urethane rubbers, flexible circuits, polyamide/nylon, fabrics, and leather.
Our patented Flexel™-branded thermosetting film adhesives cure forming a crosslinked polymer network that offers a tough, flexible, heat-resistant bond. The combination of low activation temperature and thermosetting technology results in a superior bonding solution that performs like a thermosetting adhesive but in an easy-to-use film form. These reactive films are especially valuable in assemblies that require very high impact, bond and peel strength, outstanding damp heat and humidity resistance, and high-pressure sealing capability.
Our HAF adhesives have low activation temperatures that are gentle on temperature sensitive components and substrates like batteries, plastics, leather and fine textiles for optimal aesthetics. Moreover, our Flexel™ films have very fast curing speeds enabling high throughput manufacturing.
H.B. Fuller’s heat activated film adhesives feature:
- Easy-to-use film form
- No messy application equipment
- Immediate handling strength
